Maria’s been writing original songs since 2012, shaped by a broad palette of musical influences. Many of Maria’s songs focus on the eternal themes of love, loss, the search for home and the sting of mortality. She also draws inspiration from the powerful beauty of her north country surroundings, in the hills of  Pennine Yorkshire. Some of Maria’s favourite songwriters include Sarah Jarosz, Cahalen Morrison, Gillian Welch, Joe Newberry, Melody Walker and Steve Earle.
